Top of the Mags

I think that Jade Goody was very clever to have married Jack Tweed in order to allow all her money to go to her two sons, Bobby and Freddy. I think she was also very clever in the way that she allowed loads of magazines and newspapers to be involved so closely with her illness in order to make the money for her sons. I don’t think it has been very clever that even when she is still with us, that her ‘final words’ were printed. It is barbaric in the sense that it is hurtful and upsetting for her family and friends and even her fans. Obviously by allowing the media such close contact within her last days, Jade knew that it would be hard for her family and friends but I doubt she expected for her final words to be published when she is still alive. It’s all a bit upsetting and thoughtless.

I can understand that people were interested in how she was and what was going on with her will etc. but it still seems so unreal that her dying was the reason for The Sun to have sold a lot more copies than normal. I think the media have really been bad here, by making money from a dying woman. However, saying that Goody knew this would happen, because it is what she wanted after all. She knew that all the media coverage would mean more money for her two boys and frankly I cannot blame her for wanting to make sure they had the best out of life, it’s just a shame that something so personal had to be splattered all over the newspapers, magazines and TV.
