I agree with Dave that spitting is disgusting. Why people feel the need to spit I've no idea, and frankly I don't think there's ever a genuine, acceptable reason for doing so.
When you search for 'spitting' in Google Search, almost all of the links that appear on the first page have something to do with football and like Dave said in his blog, children could easily pick up the dirty habit from their idol footballers! They're constantly spitting during a match and we are the lucky ones who get to watch them do it...nice, NOT!
Not only is spitting in the street gross it is also a health issue. The mucous could carry lots of diseases including Tuberculosis! I read on a website (link below) that in some countries because of the health risk spitting is actually illegal. Should we maybe think of getting it made illegal here? Afterall it is dangerous for the public, and truly a disgusting habit!
