I think the idea of having advertisements on the television promoting help with abortion information is slightly 'being bad' because it could send out the message that if a child gets pregnant then they can get help getting 'rid' of the baby. This is shocking in the first place because young children are having sex and often unprotected sex too. Why should it be 'ok' for these advertisements to be on the television, I personally think that it will encourage children to practice unsafe sex as they will think it won't matter if they get pregnant because they can always get help with an abortion.
I think the advertisements are fine if they are appealing to people over the age of 16 as obviously the law is 'no sex before 16!!' However, if it is appealing to younger children, then I do not think it will be a good thing, because as I said, it may encourage the wrong thing.
This idea of children being encouraged to practice unsafe sex also links to the news I heard on the radio the other day. Apparently the government are thinking of providing the morning after pill for children, from their school! This is in hope that if children are having unsafe sex then they can trust their teachers by texting them about getting the morning after pill. To me this is barbaric...as they shouldnt be having sex at such a young age anyway! Obviously they don't follow the 'rules' and think that they are grown up enough to be having sex. In a way that can be acceptable but when they are getting pregnant when they are children themselves is unacceptable and something needs to be done about it. I am split in opinion as to whether these advertisements will help, however I do think it could encourage children to practice unsafe sex which can lead to more obvious problems than just pregnancy.
